Among his noteworthy accomplishments are the official 1980 Boston Marathon poster, and children’s book A Drop of Honey, published by Simon and Schuster. As Art Director at McGraw-Hill, Armen had the privilege of designing Nobel Prize winner Dr. Leland Hartwell’s first edition of Genetics: from Genes to Genomes. Designed the book cover for Human Sexuality by Dr. Ruth Westheimer for Lippincott Williams & Wilkins. He illustrated and designed the book cover Puttering About in a Small Land by one of Science-Fictions greatest authors Phillip K. Dick.
Armen’s publishing skills include all facets of design and production, from hands on creation to art direction. Fine art training led him naturally into the illustration field specializing in editorial assignments. Wearing many hats in his New York City studio, he is a Creative Director for Montana based Christopher Matthews Publishing managing book cover designs and graphic standards.
